A six-part course helping participants master the art of structured, compelling feature writing for all publishing platforms, including magazines, websites, personal and subscription-based blogs. Taught by Sam George, former professional surfer, magazine editor, screenwriter, author, and Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker, Write The Perfect Story has been adapted from George’s accredited, three-unit university extended studies course, applying an easily articulated, easily mastered, six-step template to the writing of a compelling narrative feature in 1500 words or less. Limited to between eight and 10 participants, this interactive Zoom course consists of six two-hour classes, each held once a week, and will include: ▪︎ Lectures ▪︎ In-class and at-home writing assignments ▪︎ Editing tips and feedback ▪︎ Interview technique ▪︎ Group readings ▪︎ Private assessments with each participant. Upon course conclusion, each participant will have a well-written, professionally edited feature story on the subject of their choice, suitable for submission or personal use—along with the effective tools with which to write many more.
