August was a month of lessons and learning. We returned to the classroom for Levi Alexander’s Structure Labs - both Outline and First Draft - and Amy Ferris’ Empow(H)er: Women Standing in Their Power. We held an open day for Richard Dubin’s Breaking Up with Your/Self that was filled with powerful conversations and people who were bold enough to introduce themselves as who they truly are. And, we’ve been steadily working behind the scenes on a new anthology, compiling the works from Amy Ferris & B.K. Jackson’s Grieving Out Loud course earlier this year.

We’ve also been preparing for all of the fabulous things up ahead.

First, we have B.K. Jackson’s Writing the Stories We’re Afraid to Tell, beginning this week on September 3rd and helping each of us dive into the craft of creation. We all know which stories scare us - the ones with too much truth, that live a little too close to home. But these are the ones that are most important to share. They are the ones that speak to the people going through the same thing. They remind us all that we are not alone, if you can be brave enough to share that bit of truth.

Then, we have powerhouses Amy Ferris and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas teaching a brilliant workshop on how to prepare, shape, and perfect your pitch. Hone your existing skills with experienced industry professionals or learn from scratch how to build a pitch from the spark of an idea - but sign up soon, because we only have eight spaces left. Come Dream with Us

These are tender times. The devastation that we’ve seen occur through a series of natural disasters around the world has been a poignant reminder that life is so very precious. Our hearts go out to all those who are hurting, and to those whose communities are just beginning to heal. Lend a helping hand where you can, and accept offers to help when you need it. Be generous in your compassion. Love each other well and often. The world needs our kindness.
