What a way to close out May! We’re rapidly approaching the first of two table reads in the next two weeks, with Levi Alexander’s MIRIAM slated for this Saturday, May 30th at 10AM PT. This brilliant piece will be performed by much of the original cast responsible for the short film earning its laurels and being screened at Cannes in the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase. As with all our table reads, this will be a fundraiser event with a portion of the proceeds going to Exposure Skate, an organization designed to support women and non-binary youth skateboarders in America.
This is a gorgeous and important piece for these times. It delivers warm encouragement to each of us to pursue our wildest dreams, even if they push the bounds of everything we’ve ever known. We’ll get the popcorn ready - tickets are still available here.
Next up is Julia Pearlstein’s ANDY & ME directed by Richard Dubin this coming Saturday. ANDY & ME follows college friends Phillip Pearlstein and Andy Warhol as they navigate young adulthood and the art world of New York City in the 60s, as told by Phillip himself in his old age. This tender, funny, and heartfelt story is the perfect balm for those seeking tales of connection and reconciliation. ANDY & ME stars Stephen Macht, Beth Bornstein Dunnington, Finn Kobler, and Rosie Byrne. Find out more here.
Our first Noon Miracle Summer School Course begins the day after the ANDY & ME table read on June 7th! Levi Alexander will be leading the 6-week course Structure Lab: Outline for fledgling screenwriters and all those who wish to learn and understand the structure of a feature film. Together, the class will break down films, learn what makes a strong storyline, and create their own complete outlines for their own feature by the end of the course. There are only six spaces left for this course, so don’t wait to sign up!
Then, on July 13th, Ruby Fink will begin her Summer School Course, Write a 10 Chapter Book in 10 Weeks, taking writers from a blank page to a full first draft of a 10 chapter book. Plus, she’ll throw in some handy tips for how to go about self-publishing or reaching out to literary agents once you have a manuscript you’re happy with. Tap the buttons below to learn more or reserve your place now.
Finally, we’d like to let everyone know that we’ll be taking a little summer break from our Table Reads and will not be accepting any more submissions for the time being. We are grateful to all those who have reached out with their own scripts, who have attended the past table reads, and who are looking forward to seeing more in the future. We are very intent on continuing this aspect of our Noon Miracle offerings as soon as we figure out a more effective work stream.
Truly, your words, stories, and art spark joy in all our hearts. We’re excited to continue to give them a place to walk, wobble, and wail. Art inspires more art, and there is always room for more of that inspiration in the world. We hope that you’ll continue to submit your pieces to Noon Miracle via our project submissions, especially if you have a piece that was borne of a Noon Miracle course. Your art fans the flames of this bonfire burning bright for all of humanity. Throw another log on.
Wishing you a joyful June,
❤ The Noon Miracle Team
