The month of June flew by in a whirlwind of new submissions, podcast recording sessions, and oh so many fantasies about marrying George Clooney. It felt like a period characterized by expansion - between our ongoing additions to the Noon Miracle library (see above), the Summer Table Reads series having its first event yesterday, our Unscripted: Believe at Noon podcast hosted by Amy Goldberg becoming available on Spotify, and registration opening for the Noon Miracle Summer School, we’ve been busy developing the scope of all that Noon Miracle offers to the creative community.
We’d like to offer a huge congratulations to Amy Ferris for the smashing success of her table read of Marrying George Clooney yesterday, and extend our gratitude to Marta Kauffman, Maggie Wheeler, Stephanie Szostak, Saundra Santiago, Allison Taylor, Sterling Anderson, and Amy Goldberg for all of their efforts in pulling this event together. It takes a village - this just happens to be an incredibly talented and hilarious village that we’ve ended up in. What a miracle. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This Saturday, July 5, the Summer Table Reads continue with our sophomore act: The Christmas Bell by Ruby Fink. Starring Jane Sibbett (Friends, It Takes Two), Valerie Spencer (Mariology, Ameryka), Violet Grace Fink (Snapshot, The Last Screenplay), Ayushi Jain (Marriage is Murder), Jamie Rahman (Grease), Hannah Edelson (Robotony, The Light of Your Life), CJ Longhammer (X-Men: First Class, Nightcrawler), Candace Blust, and Kane Blust, this heartwarming holiday tale about finding love worth fighting for is a fundraiser in collaboration with the Trevor Project, a charity dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ youth across the nation.
The following Sunday, July 13, will see our final script come to the table with a reading of The Messenger by Sterling Anderson. Starring Reno Wilson (Dexter: Original Sin, Fatal Attraction), Sophia Ali (Uncharted, The Wilds), Keisha Thompson (Chocolate with Sprinkles, CSI: Las Vegas), Penny Johnson Jerald (The Orville, Castle), Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Munsters), Jayd Swenseid (Transformation, Traitor), VJ Foster (Quantum Leap, Shawshank Redemption), LaMondo Hill (Transformation, North Central), Skye Falyn (Can’t Drive a Stick), Kai Gaines Fink (With Child, A Christmas Carol), Cristina Kim, and Jack Collins. This fast-paced pilot plunges into the world of Santana Dixon; recently released from prison and on a mission to fulfil the requests of his former inmates.
On Monday, July 14, Noon Miracle Summer School kicks off with Sam George’s course, Write the Perfect Story. Adapted from a college course he taught, this six-week course is designed to help newcomers and established writers alike to craft the perfect feature story for a magazine. Later that same week, Sterling Anderson’s Go to Script begins on July 19. Sterling’s course will be a masterclass in creating scripts – whether pilots for TV or feature screenplays – that leap off the page and increase your odds of getting your project greenlit. Due to the highly personal teaching and involved nature of these classes, there is limited space available for each. Sign up now to reserve your slot!
Next month, Amy Ferris returns to Noon Miracle to teach her course on August 5, helping us all in Awakening Our Humanity Through Words. This prompt-based course helps one and all to dive to the very depths of their soul and write in a way that is vividly, vibrantly, and vehemently authentic. More information on all of the courses can be found through the buttons above.
As ever, we are so grateful to each of you for being here and supporting us through these beginning stages. We are thrilled by the work that we’ve been able to share so far, and are so excited for all that lies ahead. This adventure is all the more worthwhile because of the people we have met and been inspired by along the way.
Wishing you all a happy, peaceful, and creative July,
❤ The Noon Miracle Team
